The Brokerage Fit Audit

The business may not be stuck. The model may be full.

Five signals help separate a bad week from a structural ceiling. Score the fit, read the guide and decide what deserves a harder question.

Choose the answer that is true most weeks.

Do not grade the brokerage on its best day or your worst one. Look for the pattern.

Think about access, expertise and how complex files are handled.

TechnologyDoes the technology remove work?

Consider the systems you actually use, not the features on the brochure.

Your brandCan your brand grow within the model?

Look at practical freedom, approvals and ownership of your marketing assets.

NetworkDoes the network expand your reach?

Count the referrals, knowledge and collaboration you can actually point to.

Long-term valueAre you building beyond the next transaction?

Consider your database, brand and transferable business value—not promised returns.

The five signs

What each pressure point looks like in real life.

A ceiling is not a bad feeling. It is a repeatable constraint between the business you have and the one the model can support.

You built the support system twice.

You pay the brokerage, then separately pay for coordination, marketing, technology, coaching or expertise because the included version does not match the business. That can still be rational—but only if the total value works.

Administration is multiplying with production.

More deals create more duplicated entry, document chasing and status uncertainty. The platform should absorb complexity. If growth simply produces more manual work, the operating model is not scaling.

Your brand has become the lead source.

Clients arrive through you, your content, referrals and your reputation, while the corporate identity remains the most protected asset in the arrangement. Ask whose value you are compounding.

Your professional network is larger than the office.

Your best collaborators, referral partners and knowledge sources already operate across cities or provinces. A structure centred on one branch may no longer match the geography of the business.

Production is high, but leverage is flat.

Every new dollar still depends on another transaction personally produced. Optional wealth programs are not guaranteed, but it is reasonable to ask whether the platform creates any path beyond the next closing.
